Billboard Music Awards
This award is given out by Billboard Magazine and it reflects how well an artist has done on the Billboard charts over the year. Since Mariah has done very well on the charts, She of course has many Billboard awards. She has many records on the Billboard chart, here are a few of them:
  • Mariah and Boyz II Men hold the record for most consecutive weeks at Billboard #1 for a single with 16. ('One Sweet Day')
  • Mariah was the first artist in Billboard history to have her first 5 singles reach #1.
  • 15 of Mariah's US singles have gone to #1 on the Billboard chart. This makes Her #2 of all times.
  • She was the second artist ever in Billboard history to debut at #1. ('Fantasy')
  • She is the only artist to have two Billboard #1 debuts, with successive singles. ('Fantasy', 'One Sweet Day')
  • She is the only artist to have three Billboard #1 debuts. ("Fantasy", "One Sweet Day", "Honey")
  • She has record in having #1's most years in a row with 11. Yes, She's been at #1 every year since 1990.
  • She has a total of 65 weeks at #1 on the singles chart, which is second best ever after Elvis Presley.
  • From the release of Fantasy in 1995, Mariah spent 26 of the following 30 weeks at #1, and 28 of them in the top 3. This achievement will probably never be bettered!

    Grammy Awards
This award seems to be the most important one, although I don't necessarily agree. After seeing their discussing and cruel treatment of Mariah in the 1996 award show where She got no prize although She had 6 nominations, I can't help but feel sick each time I hear about grammies. A small jury of "musicexperts" and critics choose which of the nominees that will get the awards. The only reason I even mention it on this page is because Mariah Herself said that "It was the best moment in my life so far" when She won back in 1991. In total Mariah has got like 30 nominations.
