October 3 - 2000 New Mariah story on VH1!
Jen mails me this:
Click here to listen to it in Mp3!
It's really hard to hear, but Jen promised to send a transcript
as soon as possible.
Okay, here is the transcript now!
Mariah sat with Rebecca Romjin to talk about All that Glitters. Mariah had
her hair down straight and was wearing a medium pink spaghetti strap shirt
on.
MC: " It's usually, it's the album and blah, blah, blah! But now I'm so
involved and immensed in this process that, It's like a weird thing, it's
going to be strange when it's over."
Rebecca Romjin: Shot in New York city, All that Glitters tells the story
of Billie, an inspiring singer that deals with love and fame featuring an
80's retro Mariah!"
MC: "It's not autobiographical! I have to say that because everybody keeps
writing that it's a story based on my life! It couldn't be further from my
life! And yes the character is a singer, But that's basically where
the similarity ends."
Rebecca Romjin: The films been in production for almost three years. And as
you can see in this scene with leading man "Max Beesley" Mariah sets the same
energy in movie making as she does into hit making."
They now show a scene of Mariah getting out of a car and holding Max
Beesley's hand. She is dressed up in a black coat, black stretch pants,
heels; pouf up'd hair and dramatic make up. And kinda pulled by max in a
alley type way to the building door where max and Mariah say:
Max Beesley: They gotta know, that they gotta treat you the right way!
Billie (AKA MC): Yeah, but it's only my first video, Ok I don't want to get a
bad reputation!
Rebecca Romjin: How did you prepare for this role? Did you draw on life
experiences? on your musical career?
MC: "My life prepared me, My psychotic life (laughs) It's really interesting,
it's really like a healing process for me. Because the music has always been
my outlet and has always been a place for me to release stuff…Um but this
allows me to do it in another way."
Rebecca Romjin: Mariah says that she turns to two other singers for
inspiration. Diana Ross in "Lady sings the blues" and Bette Midler in "The
Rose." There's no release date yet for All that Glitters, but we will keep
you posted. I'm vh1's Rebecca Romjin.

October 3 - 2000 All Saints versus Mariah Carey.
Y'all remember All Saints? They have a new single out and it's
supposed to end Mariahs and Westlifes stay at #1 in the UK. NYC
found an article about it from
www.worldpop.com:
According to the latest predictions All Saints look likely to get their
fifth No 1 when Black Coffee charts on Sunday.
The girls are currently ahead of their closest rivals Mariah Carey and
Westlife although the battle for the No 1 spot looks set to remain undecided
until the last minute as only a few thousand copies separate the two
records.
Other new entries in the Top 10 include Delirium featuring Sarah McLaughlan
which is currently No 3 and Texas which is No 4.
Eminem fans will be surprised to discover that their hero, hotly tipped to
take the No 1 position, looks likely only to scrape into the nether regions
of the Top 10 on Sunday, while Stephen Gately is also finding it difficult
to make a real impact on the charts with his second solo single I Believe.
Vengaboys are struggling as well, looking set to miss out on the Top 20 with
their new single, Cheekah Bow Bow.
However, new girl group Supersister look as if they've got a hit on their
hands with Coffee which should burst into the Top 15.
It's a predictable picture on the album chart as Radiohead look certain to
score a No 1 with their new album Kid A, while the second highest new entry
comes from Green Day. Elsewhere, Billie Piper fails to make the Top 10 with
her second album Walk Of Life.
Make sure to check worldpop on Sunday at 7pm for the only official UK
singles chart.
UK people, go out and buy a couple of thousand AOO, Mariah needs
to stay #1 another week =)

October 3 - 2000 Amazing information!
Kristy found this article in Twist magazine:
"If your eyebrows are HALF MOON SHAPED, like Mariah Carey's: You are the
master of organization. Everything you own - from your backpack to your room
- is perfectly neat. Whenever your friends need a reality check, they come
to you.
Amazing! Well, the most amazing thing is that someone actually has spent
time organizing people by the look of their eyebrows =) We're all
individuals, so organizing people by eyebrowse, color, age, star-sign,
date of birth and so on just don't make any sense, does it? Well, just
my personal opinion.

October 3 - 2000 A really talented director.
Okay, I don't know about you but I looooooove the Honey video this
guy directed, and also I love the Christina Aguilera video Come On
Over, I wish Mariah had made a video like that! Anyway, the director
Paul Hunter is making a movie now and I thought I would write you
some news about him:
Hunter, who has also lensed clips for Mariah
Carey, Busta Rhymes, D'Angelo, TLC, Will
Smith, Marilyn Manson, Janet Jackson, and a
host of others, has reportedly inked a deal to
direct his first feature film. Entertainment trade
publication "Variety" reports that Hunter has
signed on to direct "Old City," a thriller centered
on a cop who tracks a serial killer through time.
The film will reportedly be produced by "Speed"
director Jan De Bont and his Blue Tulip
Productions.
Hunter's work can currently be seen on heavy
rotation on MTV thanks to his clips for
Eminem's "The Way I Am" and Christina
Aguilera's "Come On Over." Hunter has also
captured some more memorable video images
in recent years, including Mariah Carey's
super-spy on the go in "Honey," Lenny
Kravitz's neon U.S. flag in "American Woman,"
Jennifer Lopez's online dance routine in "If You
Had My Love," and D'Angelo's glistening torso
in "Untitled (How Does It Feel)," which Hunter
co-directed with Dominique Trenier.
