Bad AAO Video Review In Herald Sun

Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper has once again done their best to trash Mariah. This week, in their weekly entertainment lift-out, HiT, they have reviewed the AAO music video clip.
HiT aren't exactly known for showing their support for Mariah, so if you're easily offended then you might not want to read anymore. Yes, it is offensive - but at least it's getting promotion!

Mariah Carey & Westlife Against All Odds (Sony)
WITH a budget as cheap as she looks, Mariah and Westlife knock up a video as bland as this Phil Collins cover. As well as the in-the- studio shots, there are scenes on a boat where she's wearing more make-up than the combined members of Kiss. The real guest stars are Mariah's breasts, especially when she wears what looks like the same size dress that Nikki Webster wore at the Olympics. Watch for the final shot when one of the Westlife goons stares right at her cleavage. Busted.

Mariah's Singles In Canada

Ryan sent me some charting info about MC's Rainbow singles in Canda:

I notice someone saying that the Mariah "Against all odds" was doing well in Canada. The single (without Westlife) peeked at 4 and quickly fell, but re entered the chart this week at 105. Her other single "Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)" jumped from 79 to 57 in it's 17th week on the chart. The song debuted at 2, and unfortunetly never climbed into the #1 spot. "Heartbreaker" and "Thank God I Found You" both climed into the top spot in Canada earlier in the year. Currently, Madonna's "Music" hold's the #1 position in Canada, on both the singles and albums charts.

In this week's "ASK BILLBOARD" at Billboard.com, it mentions that the Mariah and Westlife single, which was a #1 hit in the UK, is unlikely to be released in the US. That typically means it will not be released in Canada.

As far as I know, the reason why David didn't do "Heartbreaker" is because he wasn't available... nor was he able to change his schedule. She went with Junior on the advice of several people in her camp. She liked the mix, but she told me during an interview that she was nervous about the remix because she so rarely works on dance stuff without Morales. That's why they reunited for "Can't Take That Away From Me." My understanding is that they're very good pals.

Mariah glitters.

Mariah Carey has been a busy girl lately, but not with her singing. The diva with the voice of gold has had her hands full with a couple of different movies. The first is called All That Glitters (due out next spring) and will star Mariah as an up-and-coming singer in the 80's trying to make it big. Not only is she playing the lead role in the film, but she is also producing it. Mariah recruited fellow musicians Eric Benet and Da Brat for the project. The soundtrack for the movie will feature some new songs from Mariah as well as covers. How does the singer feel about her new acting career? She told MTV, "It's like a little secluded cocoon world where I quite enjoy not dealing with reality." Mariah will continue dealing with fantasies when she plays the comic book heroine Wonder Woman in a movie. The singer was recently offered the role originally made popular by 70's icon Lynda Carter. With all this acting stuff going on, some wonder whether Mariah will return to her singing career. "I just need, like, a week off and that's it. Then I'm ready to go."

The Comics2Film Web site reported that rumors that singer Mariah Carey is in the lead to star in producer Joel Silver's Wonder Woman movie are most likely false. Comics2Film said its own unnamed source knowledgeable about the film had heard nothing about the supposed casting.

But the site added that it's possible that talks with Carey have happened with other parties involved with the film, which is based on the DC Comics series of the same name. The Carey casting rumor originated in a report by a British tabloid newspaper.

Super Bowl Mariah?

In USA they have this sport called "American Fotball", and the most popular event there is called Super Bowl, it's like the most watched TV-program in USA all year! So why am I telling you this? Because Vincent from the site Mariah Carey Shining Star has figured that it would be great Mariah and ATG promotion if she performened there for next years super bowl, he writes:

I need to add that AAO is #1 for the third week in a row in Westlifes country Ireland. In the UK it will not reach #1 for the third week, the likely new #1 is All Saints. AAO will probably be #2 or #3. Speaking about charts, Zoli writes: I am sooo glad, cos on the most important Hungarian chart the new single is No 7!!! Also Mariah and Westlife beat Madonna now and become #1 on the biggest Swedish radiochart Tracks! The chart is decided by people voting so the song is really popular in my country, yes!!

I was looking at site Mariah Carey Archives and read about an album called "Tribute to Mariah Carey". It's released in November and will have various artists singing Mariah Carey. That seemed cool I think, but I am afraid all the artists will be unknown. The label Big Eye who release it are extremly unknown, I can't find anything about them on the net. They are also releasing albums called "Music inspired by Pokemon", "Tribute to Britney Spears", "Tribute to Shania Twain", "Tribute to Whitney Houston", "Tribute To Cher", "Tribute to Enrique Iglesias".
